Leaves. 4 - 8 elongated, often pointed and arching over appear in spring.

Flowers. Purple and green, long pointed lip, hood formed by the sepals and a pointed floral bract of variable length.

Flowering period. April - June

Soil type. Weakly acid or calcareous
